Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder Review

So I decidd that i would review an absolute favourite of mines and well i guess you would call it my old faithful when it comes to pressed powder.
So Rimmel stay matte powder has been around for years, and i can honestly say i've been using it for years as i've never found an alternative.

Being pale, or at least paler than the average girl, make-up colour match has always been one of those annoyingly hard things to get right.  And to be quite frank i only really got properly into make-up a few years ago.  But Rimmel is one of those brands that is well known, well recognised and has been around for a good while now and its definitely stood the test of time as it's still going strong.

So about the powder.  Rimmel make it and they have a few shades 4/5 i think, so i went for the lightest shade which is 001 - transparent.  This shade is actually quite hard to come by as for one, there is never many of them available on the shelf and when there is they seem to sell out really fast, so i usually stock up when they are on offer. Biggers Boots stores have them, but i found that other places have started to bring into their stores now too and not always places you would think. I have seen the transparent one more in Asda and also Wilkinson's stores for the same price, so i know that these little places will have it so if Boots don't i know i can nip there and get them, a little secret i'll share with you guys, always look in the unexpected places!

So that is the powder, now don't get me wrong, it's not the most sophisticated  looking powder but in the end it does what it says on the lid.  The packaging is just plastic, very plain and very simple, but don't get me wrong, the lid isn't the most secure of lids becuase it can come off uite easily, especially when it's in your bag!! so a little note, if you plan on carrying it about in your bag and are like me and carry everything but the kitchen sink in your bag, put it in the zipped compartment or put it in your little make-up bag because it can also break-up if the lid comes off.  So yes the packaging could be improved for the safety aspect, but you get what you pay for in this sense and the price is amazing. it's only £3.99 which is an absolute bargain, and even better is that it actually works!! LOVE IT!!

Now i'm one of those people who is easily swayed with new products, if they say they will work wonders then i'm pretty inclined to buy it because i have pretty awful skin even at 25 my skin is still bloody terrible, its like really? Also i have tried soooooo many powders, high end and low end and the cheapest of the cheap and i can honestly say i've found nothing to match this wee beauty.  I also like the fact it's compressed, because i just cannot get to grips with loose powder and i find that even though i have little dry patches on my face this powder doesn't accentuate them as much as the loose powder would, so again that is such a bonus.
The powder itself is a really good colour match and it definitely works. it says its reduces shine and it does, it says it works for 5 hours, but i can say even after about 8 hours, my make-up was still in place! so yey! it also has good coverage and is definitely build a able in the sense you can put on as much as you like, but i find less is more when it comes to it as i don't want to look "powdery".  It's also good if you have oily skin as it can help to combat that!.

The powder comes in a 14g tub and is £3.99 Bargain!

I just apply the powder with a basic powder brush as i literally just sweep it over my face as i don't put loads on. 

So thats my beest beauty buy. It has been a staple part of my make-up bag for a while now and will continue be in the future!

Avon-Colourtrend Doll Pink Lipstick Review.

So i thought i would finally review this lipstick that i bought about 5 months ago as i finally wore it for the first time on New Years Eve.

It's an Avon Colourtrend lipstick, and the colourtrend is like the more teenager and cheaper range in the Avon, but i like it and i've bought quite a bit of colourtrend before but this was my first lipstick purchase!
It's in the shade Doll Pink which is like a really nice vibrant pink colour, the packaging is really simple but sleak and i like it because it has a little see through transparent section so you can see the colour exactly which is always good, especially if you have a few of the same which i do.

So the basics are:

• Its from Avon-Colourtrend.
• Its Doll Pink
• It cost £1.25 ( Usually £3.75)
• It's highly pigmented and vibrant
• Glides on easily.
• Smooth, moisturising and definitly not drying.
• Has amazing staying power ( it really does stain)

 As i said the packaging is really sleek and simple! Plain white with just the pink accent of colour with the brand, and the colour is on the bottom of the lipstick, i really like the simplicity of it. 
The colour is really nice and high pigmented too, it goes on really vibrantly and it really doesn't loose it's colour. 

It has really good staying power as i just used a lip brush to line the colour around my lips and then used the lipstick to fill it in, and i only re-applied it twice throughout the whole night and even then it didn't need it i just done it as their was photo op's haha. It does proper stain as well as i still had the colour on my lips the next morning, haha so it definitely gives good colour and for the price its really good!

Herbal Essences - Beautiful ends

Hey lovelies!!

Haircare is a world all of its own so i often find myself picking new wee things up every now and again.
this was one of these random such buys, but i always end up just sticking with Aussie because i've used it for so long but its starting to do nothing for me.
as the aussie philosophy goes "there is more to life than hair, but it's a good place to start" indeed it is so here is my latest buy.

So as you know i bought this a while ago now about 3 months or so and have been using it so thought it was time to see how it went.

Herbal Essences Beautiful Ends which is a split end protective mask

so this is what it looks like -

I can't get hold of it in Boots, but maybe bigger boots stores will sell it, i know bodycare do sell it too.
the tub is a good size and does last ages as well.
it retials at £3.99 but i managed to pick it up for jus £1 on the wilkinsons sale rack haha.

it's a nice pink colour and although it looks really runny it's actually not at all it's really manageable.

I got the red tub which is for dry/damaged hair, i do not have either of these so hence why did i buy it?

well sometimes i feel my hair just tangles as soon as i wash it and ive tried detanglers etc but they don't work, so i put it down to just having long hair.

But at a quid i thought i'll give this a try see if it does anything or even helps with my split ends.  Now split ends are enevitable i mean every girl gets them no matter how good a condition your hair is in, i love my hair but i don't get it cut as regurarly as i probably should because hairdressers are expensive and i don't have a steady income so i try my best to look after my hair in other ways, i only straighten my hair once a week if that sometimes i jusy rock the natural curl / wave and leave it be.

I started using this herbael essences mask about 3 months or so ago and i use it once a week.

to be honest it hasn't done much at all for my split ends but they were never that bad in the first place, but it has made my hair more shiny and definitly helps with the tangle issues!! 

the smell itself is devine, it smells good enough to eat and the facts its pink instead of plain ol white is always nice!

plus it has lasted me for agessssssss!

I'll look into the other tubs for normal hair and see what they offer up if not i'll need to try find another good de-tangler as i've always used Aussie but lately it's doing nothing for me, except the smell is no nice i just keep with it but i am going to need to change it up!

but if yu have split ends maybes give this a try!! :)

No7 Nail Polish - Jammy Review

So I thought i would review another No7 nail polish that I finally got around to using.

So this is the one i'm going to review:

This nail polish is called Jammy - 270 and is from the Stay Perfect Summer range of No7 polishes at Boots.

So the polish itself is a 10ml bottle which is a really good size for a nail polish.  It states that is a pigment rich colour and i can definitely say that it completely delivers on this point.  The colour is a gorgeous colour i would say it's somehwere between cerise and magenta and is more of a darker pink instead of the everyday pale and light pinks that are always available.  The colour is a rich gorgeous pink colour and my photo's really do not do it justice.  

This is what the polish looks like on the nails.

The colour is absolutely lovely on and makes a nice wee difference to an everyday pin, i like the fact it's a summery colour but it's in your face bright it's just quite plain but vibrant.  The polish applies really well and smoothly and the colour is completely opaque within two coats. It also has a like a hue/pearlescent sheen when the colour hits the light, there is a sort of purple sheen that can be seen through the nail polish which is always nice to see, i don't know if that makes any sense but i know what i mean. These polishes have a new flat brush installed which No7 brought out last year and this makes it so much easier to apply the polish onto the nails and the whole nail is covered within three brush strokes.  The only slight complaint i have is that the polish itself can be quite runny and i find that you need to really shake it up before you use it and also make sure you wipe the excess off as i found that sometimes excess polish would run down the brush and i would only notice when it blobbed onto my nail or my hand and then i had lost some polish which is no big deal but still it's better in the bottle than on my hand.

Overall though the polish is lovely, perfect application, gorgeous rich colour and doesn't chip for about 3/4 days.

The nail polish retails at £7 but i got it for £2 with a £5 off voucher and that was a definite bargain!!

I usually stock up on nail polishes when these £5 vouchers come out as a nail polish for £2 is a sweet deal and i stock up when these vouchers are out, i already have 57 different shades of no7 so far and can't wait to add more as they always have gorgeous colours.

Illamasqua - Rich Foundation Review

So I done a post about a little haul i gt from the Illasmasqua sale and one of the items was a bottle of Rich Foundation.  Illasmaqua is one of those brands i've heard about but never tried and it's not long came into more departments stores etc as before hand the only place i ever seen it or even heard about it was in Selfridges in Manchester.

So anyway i Bought the Rich Foundation in shade 133 whic is for pale/light skintone, there was also two lighter ones one with pink undertones and one with gold, and call me stupid but i do not understand all this undertone business so i just went for the plain and simple foundation with no undertones as i didn't want to waste money on buying something that turned out not to be right.

This was the one that i bought:

It's a 30ml size bottle and to be honest you really do not need much.

Sorry i know the photo isn't brilliant but you can see the slight colour change where i have applied the foundation.  I would say it's a pretty decent match and it's not too orange and it rubs in quite well, but i am rather pale haha so it's as good as i will get really.

The foundation itself is actually really thick although if you don't shake up the bottle first its just liquid that runs out.  You definitely don't need a lot of it to cover your face i just put a little dot on and worked it out with a foundation brush and you definitely need to use a brush as the foundation is quite thick and can take a bit of working, i found i was rubbing it in for a quite a while using my hand, but when i used the brush it seemed to even out slightly more easily.  Once the foundation is applied and it has been thoroughly rubbed in it sits really nicely on and feels so smooth on your skin it actually feel like a second skin.  My skin is pretty atrocious so this actually worked really well for me and gave me pretty much full coverage and smoothed out my skin better than most foundations have in the past.  Although it says full coverage its medium to full coverage and it certainly does do that but it does not look cakey on which is an added bonus as i completely hate the caked on make-up look.  Since it's a thic foundation i would stick to wearing it at night as i think it may be slightly too much for through the day and especially when it is a warm day!
It also has a nice smell to it which i know is completely random to say but it really actually does.

Overall it worked really well for me and it definitly delivered on just about every single point.
Also for the bonus of picking it up for a £10 it's all the more sweeet!!
it's actual price is around £25 but i would definitely pay that price for it as it works for me completely.
