Avon-Colourtrend Doll Pink Lipstick Review.

Hey Girlies,

So i thought i would finally review this lipstick that i bought about 5 months ago as i finally wore it for the first time on New Years Eve.

It's an Avon Colourtrend lipstick, and the colourtrend is like the more teenager and cheaper range in the Avon, but i like it and i've bought quite a bit of colourtrend before but this was my first lipstick purchase!
It's in the shade Doll Pink which is like a really nice vibrant pink colour, the packaging is really simple but sleak and i like it because it has a little see through transparent section so you can see the colour exactly which is always good, especially if you have a few of the same which i do.

So the basics are:

  • Its from Avon-Colourtrend.
  • Its Doll Pink
  • It cost £1.25 ( Usually £3.75)
  • It's highly pigmented and vibrant
  • Glides on easily.
  • Smooth, moisturising and definitly not drying.
  • Has amazing staying power ( it really does stain)

Here's some photo's of the lipstick.

As i said the packaging is really sleek and simple! Plain white with just the pink accent of colour with the brand, and the colour is on the bottom of the lipstick, i really like the simplicity of it.
The colour is really nice and high pigmented too, it goes on really vibrantly and it really doesn't loose it's colour.

It has really good staying power as i just used a lip brush to line the colour around my lips and then used the lipstick to fill it in, and i only re-applied it twice throughout the whole night and even then it didn't need it i just done it as their was photo op's haha. It does proper stain as well as i still had the colour on my lips the next morning, haha so it definitely gives good colour and for the price its really good!

Avon Haul

Hey Girlies,

I recently purchased a few things from the Avon and thought i'd share it with you's, so my order arrived yesterday.
I've always been a fan of the Avon, i know some people think it's out of date or old fashioned or whatever but i honestly still really like it and i regularly purchase things from it.

So in my most recent order this what i bought.

I bought 4 different Nail Polishes and 2 new Lipsticks.

I do love the Avon nail polishes, i already own 4 and they are really really good! So I bought these 4 new nail polishes on an offer that was on, i got 4 for £10 which is an absolute bargain as normally they are £6 each so that was me saving £14 which really cannot be sniffed at.

So i bought 4 different shades all new shades in the range, 3 of them are the usual Nailwear + and one is from the Speed dry range.

So first up was the Avon Speed Dry + nail polish.  Sorry the picture is terrible but it's a really nice lime green colour, the actual colour is know as "lime splatter" and i know to a lot of people this colour will be awful and the wrst possible choice, but i really like it and i do like the odd out there colour and at least it will add a splash of colour to a dull or boring outfit.  The speed dry nail polishes are really good and they do actually dry in like 30 seconds. Amazing.

Next up was a nail polish from the Nailwear  Pro + range and it's in the colour of "Pink Creme", it's a nice subtle pink shade. Again this is usually £6 but got in the 4 for £10 deal.

The third shade i got was "naked truth" it's a dark nude shade and i'm looking forward to rocking this in autumn as its a shade to suit the season and i do really like a nude nail that blends with a nice outfit!! This nail polish also comes from the Nailwear Pro + range and retails at £6

The last shade that i got was "Red Reveal" and it's a really deep red almost verging on burgundy which i love as i have been looking for a deeper shade to take me into autumn and to go with some of my more darker clothes but still giving my nails some glam and this is exactly it!  This shade is also from the Nailwear Pro+ range and retails at £6

The nail polishes can be bought directly from your avon representitive or from their online website here

Next up was 2 lipsticks i bought and these were from the colourtrend range within the Avon catalogue, this is the more young hip brand.  Firstly the packaging of the nail polishes is actually really lovely, although it's plain and simple, it's sleek and works.  I like the pink text colour accent which works well off the white, i definitly like it!!When the lid goes on there is also a little clear patch that you can see directly the colour of the lipstick which is always good when the sticker rubs off.  Thoroughly impressed considering it's known as the young cheaper brand.

The first one i got was a bright Vibrant pink shade known as "Doll Pink" and it's gorgeous, so vibrant and pigmented and really nice and moisturising.  The colour swatch on my hand is just one quick swipe so the colour can obviously be built up to get a really bright vibrant colour.  This will definitely being rocked soon on a night out.

The second lipstick i got was more subtle.

This was a more subtle colour lipstick and is more of a coral/nude shade and i think i'd definitely wear this shade more through the day.  The colour is listed as "flirty" the swatch on my hand was a few rubs across my hand and the colour as like the pink can be built up to make the colour pop more but i like the subtleness of it.

The lipsticks i got 2 of them for £4 which was a bargain as they retail at £3.75 each and you can get them here.

So that was my little Avon haul thanks for reading <3

Barr M Lip Paint Review.

Hii Girlies,

well i thought i would do a review on the Barry M lip paint that i purchased a few weeks back since i've used it and worn it out now.

So i purchased the Barr M lip paint in shade 144 which is listed as Cerise Pink, i would say it's more along the magenta shade but really its not a major because the shade itself is gorgeous!!

so this is the lip paint here

The colour is lovely and it actually does look quite dark when you first open it but once applied it actually is a lot lighter and is a really lovely wearable shade.  I probably wouldnt wear it out during the day as i think it could be a tad too much but i wore it on a night out and it was perfect definitely a more wearable night out shade!

i swatched it on my hand too before i applied it to my lips to see the difference.

and once i had applied it to my lips too:

as you can see from the photo it applies really well and the pigment of the colour really does come through.
The lipstick itself has a really soft and smooth texture and isn't at all glittery as their is no glitter or shimmer in the lipstick. I would also say it's defininitely moisturising as you lips do not dry out or any point do they feel dry so it's definitely nourishing to the lips.  This also helps the lipstick glide on and the staying power is quite remarkable.  The colour is highy pigmented and it definitely stains the lips and has lasting power, i only re applied it maybe every four hours, and i was drinking constantly and it hardly showed on the glasses which is also great.

Overall it was lovely and moisturising and i don't really have a complaint!
I'd definitely buy more of these and priced at £4.49 that is pretty reasonable!

thanks for reading...

you girlies got any favourite shades?

Beauty Haul

Hii Girls, another short post on some beauty items i got recently, some from the illamasqua sale, some from Ebay, some from general high sreet shops and some from Alice over at Bright Town Girl when she done a little blog sale!! :)

I got a foundation from Illamasqua thanks to reading a post from The Beauty Fiend about her purchases from they're sale, so that's what made me go to their website and have a wee swatch, as i honestly didn't even know they had a sale on, totally not with it sometimes. So i opted for the Rich Foundation in shade 133 which is for light skin as by the time i got to their sale half the shades and stuff had already gone so i opted for this one as it was the lightest available, up until this point i had never even used Illamasqua so this was ll new to me.  My Best Kirsty over at The Style Khalessi had bought their white mixing foundation and had all good things to say about it so i thought ahh stuff it i shall give it a go!

First thing to mention was how cute the packaging was, when the postman rang my doorbell with this square package i was like what is this i haven't ordered anything this big haha, then i opened it and was really surprised, it was super cute and well wrapped top marks for that Illasmasqua!!

So this was the foundation I purchased.

It's a har plastic bottle and is a fairly decent size 30ml with a twist lid.  The bottle is sturdy and stands well.  I got it in the shade 133 and was from the rich foundation line which is more for medium to full coverage i got that because i have pretty terrible skin and thought this might be better for when i'm going out but only at night as i don't like lots of make-up on during the day.  I haven't tested it out yet but it looks good and is lighter than my everyday foundation whic is a bit dark anyway so all in all it looks to have been a pretty good purchase.  It usually retials at £21.50 but i got it for £10 in the sale which is a total bargain and specially if it works amazingly!!  I shall await this sale next year or at Christmas with baited breath!! :)

The Illasmaqua Loose powder i also got (from the blog sale) but included in the Illamasqua box as it's the same brand.

That's what the loose powder looks like.  It's a 15g tub and comes with the puff too.  It's in the lightest shade LP 120 for fair skin and a slight pink tone which will help with my skin troubles!!  The powder itself retials at £19.50 but i managed to pick it up for £5 bargain!!  It says the powder is light and soft and fixes my make-up flawlessly so here's hoping i shall review once i have used it and let you know the verdict!

Now onto Ebay...This was just a completely random purchase that i came across as i was browsing but was intrigued about it as i had seen so many people go on about Ciate nail polishes that i thought i should try one so i went ahead and purchased this one.

I purchased it from ebay for the absolute bargain price of £1 which for this brand of nail polish is really good.  It is a 13.5ml size bottle and is so super cute :)  I got the shade Jelly Bean which is almost like a magenta pink with a shimmer of blue when the light hits it, looks gorgeous in the bottle and i'm looking for to trying it out for myself. Review still to come!!

Next up was more of the blog sale items...Firsty was the No7 shine free primer.

I'd been thinking about trying the No7 primers for a while and when i seen this i thought why not!!  It is the shine free primer and promises to give more of a matte finish to your make-up.  I picked this up for £3.  Once I start using it i shall then review it on it's own.

Next up was this Barry M lip stick or lip paint as they call it.

Over recent months i've got more into lipsticks and have been picking them up here and there, plus i use Barry M for other things like their nail polish and little eye dusts and things so i think the lipstick is a pretty safe bet and i'm looking forward to trying it out.  The shade is 144 and is called cerise pink on the website but i think its a really dark pink almost purple like it's a gorgeous colour and i can't wait to try it out on a night out!!  I picked this lip paint up for £1 bargain, they retail at £4.49 on the Barry M Website.  I shall review this once i've used it.

here's a phot of the colour

Next up is another lipstick also from the blog sale and is from Micheal Todd whom i can say i've honestly never even heard of, but i really like the whole nude/peach tones for lipsticks and have been looking for different ones and this fell directly into that category so i thought why not.  This is what it looks like and the colour of the lipstick.

The shade is listed as First Kiss and is a peachy gold tone, looks lovely and summery and i can't wait to try it out.  I picked this up for £1.

Next up was a blusher that i have seen in many reviews lately, the Revlon photoready cream blush.  I've used cream blush before and i like it, i know it's not everyones cup of tea and sometimes they can be so unpredictable as it's easy to put too much on but i like them and find them pretty easy and good to use so i purchased this one.

It's in the shade pinched and is a peachy coral colour blush.  Sometimes i get sick of using the same old pink tone blushes and i really like a nice peachy one as i think it can really change up your look so i opted for this one.  Plus i picked it up for just £2.50 bargain.  I know they are just a new product out here in the UK so if its good i look forward to trying more and different shades.

I also picked up some new flase eyelashes, just wee cheapy ones from the £1 shop, got two sets and glue and £1 and they are just as good as the more expensive ones.  I'n all honesty i'm not one for buying expensive false eyelashes as i get glue everywhere and i just peel them off at night and that's it so i'm not into paying £10 for some eyelashes when we all have them anyway..

Last thing i picked up was another rimmel primer, good wee primer for the money and does the job at the end of they day, currently on offer for £4.99 in boots instead of £6.99

that was my wee beauty haul, thanks for reading.

you girls used any these products?
rate them or hate them?

Technic Juicy Stick Review.

so i done  a haul post on these a few weeks back and thought that now i have used them i would do a little review on them.

So here they are...

They are just a wee cheapy make (Technic) from the Bodyshop and are £1 each.  I just got them to see if they are any good as i think the Clinique ones are a bit pricey at £16, but obviously now that Revlon has brought out a similar thing (just kissable balm i think it is) i'd probably be more inclined to buy that one since it's for £6 just now!
Anyway these are called Technic Juicy Sticks, they don't have any shades on them they are just known as JS8 (top one in the photo) and JS11 (bottom one), but i would say the JS8 is like a mre natural nude shade but slightly darker than a peachy nude.  The Js11 is pink'ish one but slightly more subtle pink with a slight peachy tone.

They are really easy to apply and don't dry out your lips, it's just like having vaseline on your lips but more matt.  The pigment colour is actually alright, obviously it's not super bright, it's more of a subtle tone and doesn't look mega obvious, i'd say the colour lasts around 4 hours and will need a wee top up at some point throughout the day, but in general the ease of use is good and it does add a hint of colour to your lips, subtle enought to wear everyday.

here's a swatch of the colours

JS8 is the top and
JS11 is the bottom

the nude shade is really subtle when it's on and the pink one is really lovely on, not too bright but nice and pigmented enough to show you have a colour on your lips.

they stain your lips a wee bit and it has a tendenacy to run off the edges if you don't use a liner but even still it's not then end of the world.

this is what they look like on.
p.s sorry for the terrible photo, my phone doesn't do great photos and my camera has gne awol plus i have a pizza face spotty chin hence the hand cover up haha

this is the pink shade JS11.

this is the nude shade JS8

overall they are okay and for the money they do what they state they would so for an everyday wee cheapy thing they do the job!
