Gel Nails.

Hii Girls,

So over the last 2 months or so i decided i would start to look after my nails, because i've always had not terrible nails but they weren't really that great either so i decided tomake them pretty once and for all!

So acrylic nails areavailable anywhere, but myexperiences of these honestly haven't been that brilliant, they usually leave my nails in quite bad condition for a good month or so after they have been removed so it's not worth the hassel......
Then i came across gel nails! muchos better all be it that tad more expensive but it preserves your nails more and is much more nails friendly so its a no brainer really.

So i got Grey first time and then a sort of burgundy colour second time and im unsure what to get next time?

they are really pretty and really shiny when they are done sorry my poor photo skills don't show this off very well.
They don't chip and i worked everyday in a lab with them and they well full proof so yey for that!
they last around 4 weeks then will probably need re-doing.

Hey Girls.

So I recently rocked this look on my nails and i thought it was super cute but im a fan of polka dots so here it is....

Firstly These were a wee present and they are Nail Wraps from Primark and they were only like a few quid so not the end of the world...
Basically it's like stickers for your nails and you just find the size that fits and then stick it on and trim the end off, and it can sometimes be used again.
Really easy and quick way to do your nails!

 

This is how they come.... They were red with little white polka dots on them, really cute

once they are on you just cut the excess off and file it down, easy peasy and the results are cute and not messy!

Magnetic nail polish / NOTD

Hey Girlies,

So i know that i'm probably well late with this trend on the Blogisphere but well i've never really been a follower of trends so to speak.

So about a week ago i was having a browse around Primark and i came across this magnetic nail polish, and i had seen these floating about months before this from Nails Inc and also by Barry M and they looked really smart but i just thought they were a bit pricey for what is esentially a nail polish with a little wavy line design.

So anyway once i seen this wee number in Primark i thought i'd give it a bash for the sake of £2 i was going to lose that much if it was totally awful.

So this was what it looked like:

The packaging is pretty simple, it just came in a little black box and pretty much said what it done on the box, simple and effective.

The colour itself i really liked, as it was intense metallic grey colour and i found that the magnetic nail colours were only available in like 3 colours and at the time Primark only had this grey one, a navy blue one and a burgundy coloured one, to my surprise i really liked all 3 colours but i have always been a fan of grey and i own some grey nail polishes already so i stuck with what i knew and went for the Grey one.

So this is the colour up close, and i would say it's like a slate grey colour but it has a really nice metallic sheen shine to it when the light hits it.  It also has like a shimmer through it, The bottle itself is a 7ml bottle which is a good size, and the brush is really good and the colour itself is also really good.  It applies well and isn't runny or streaky or anything and 2 coats and it's totally lovely and perfect.

However the down side, is the magnetic aspect. I found this totally failed, the magent is located on the top of the lid and once you apply the colour it says to hold the magnet over the colour for 15 seconds and it should take the pattern.... but i didn't find that i found it quite annoying and fidly, firstly it looks like it's just sort of went streaky, and also its hard to tell how close to hold the lid and sometimes you end up diggining into the polish which is seriously annoying. So yes although its sold as a magnetic polish it fails completely on that for me. BUT as just a grey metallic nail polish it is utterly gorgeous and ive decided to froget the magnet and use it solely as a nail polish! :)

here's the results. p.s sorry about the scraggy nails i haven't cleaned around where the excess polish went, and also i added a wee splash of colour with a pigmented sparkly MUA polish.

So that is my Nail look for this week!

Autumn Sparkle - NOTW

Hey Girlies,

Thought i would add some sparkle to my autumn nails this year to jazz them up a bit.
I just kept it simple though with a nude nail and added some glitter and sparkle for a little bit of jazziness.

So i started by applying a layer of a nude colour just to give a base and a slight natural autumn colour.

 I only done one layer of the nude colour as i didn't want it to be really obvious i just wanted a slight colour but mostly the sparkle to stand out.  I used one of Fearne Cotton's nail polishes from last season called "Taupe"

Once this was dry i applied one coat of the plain silver glitter from the rebel at debenhams range, then once dried i layed that again with a layer of Technic "Carnival" which has lots of glitter and sparkly bits in lots of different colour.

Once i applied all this it looked like this!

I done this just for some difference and when it catches the light it sparkles so much and in so many colours and its so pretty and brightens up these dull morning that are happening most days now! plus its easy to do and just adds some sparkle to everday! :) you can never have enough sparkle....

NOTD- Some Bling.

so tonight Idecided to give my nails a new coat of nail polish but instead of doing them everyday plain pink i decided to give it a little bit of jazzyness and add in a hint of bling.

So I done this, nothing new just something different.

I done two coats of the pink which is an Avon nail polish and is called Viva Pink and it's a lovely bright summery pink and goes completely opaque after two coats.

The glitter nail i used the cheapy Technic carnival nail polish that i got in a recent haul and i also used the Ruby glitter polish that i got as part of a set from Debenhams.

Firstly i done a coat of the ruby plain with silver glitter and then a second coat of that to build up a glitter base than topped it with the carnival polish to add the colour glitter.

It just adds some jazz to otherwise an everyday plain nail and when the light hits the glitter it sparkles and is tres cute!! :)

Summer Nails. (Primark Pastel nail polish set)

so i've been a bit short of money lately but i'm quite obsessed with nail polishes and although i don't have long gorgeous nails, i like to keep mines painted just to make them look a bit nicer than they would if i just left them normal.

so i happened to be in town during last week with my brother and we popped into Primark i didn't plan on buying anything but i ended up buying something, couldn't resist, and since it's been a heatwave in Scotland for the past week which NEVER happens i was on the look out for some new nail polish colours and i came across this little set in Primark.

 so it only cost £2 which is a bargain for 4!
they were only small though 6mls only but still good things come in small packages and all that.  But the size isn't all bad as it means you can carry them in your bag without worry and top up if you chip a nail or whatevs.  So they were actually really good, lids don't stick or jam and the brushes are actually good, not too big, but not too small either and the bristles are all straight so that stops strays putting the polish everywhere!!

they don't have any names or anything on them these were just the summer pastel shades and there were other little sets too, which i think i may go back and purchase since i really like these ones!!

so this is what they look like on my nails..

 the purple one i added just so i didn't have two nails the same and it's just an Avon nail polish.

The nail polishes were easy to apply and not sticky or glupy, they only took 2 coats to look good and gave good colour and coverage, the drying time between coats was actually superfast, by the time i painted my nails the first one was dry and i could apply the second coat straight on top without any smudges or anything.  so far i've had it on for 2 days ^^ and it's not chipped or faded or anything yet which is miarculous for me as i could chip nail polish within seconds, there's no smudge marks or anything either and my hands go though some amount in a day so it's doing darn well to stay put considering i didn't use a base or top coat or anything.

overall i really like these little polishes they give what they say they would pastel nails, no problems encountered and at £2 they were a bargain i think i'll definitely re-purchase and also purchase the other sets too i mean why not?
